Disruption to Glasgow trains after signal fault found at Cardonald

Train passengers are facing delays in and out of Glasgow today.

A signal fault between Glasgow Central and Cardonald is having an impact on the line, and ScotRail engineers don't anticipate that will be fixed until 5pm.

They say: "We are dealing with a signalling issue between Glasgow Central and Cardonald. Our staff have been mobilised and will arrive on site shortly."

Meanwhile, a broken down train at Balloch has led to the cancellation of all services between the town and nearby Dumbarton, meaning a huge knock-on effect for anyone who uses the line, and ScotRail don't expect that issue to be cleared by the end of the day.

ScotRail say: "We have a broken down train at Balloch which is causing disruption to our service. Unfortunately we are unable to move the train without causing significant disruption to other services so the replacement bus shuttle will remain in place for the rest of today."

Buses are running between the stations and all services from Dumbarton Central are running as normal.
