Major disruption hits ScotRail trains between Glasgow Central and Ayrshire

Trains between parts of Ayrshire and Glasgow have been cancelled tonight after a signalling fault near the city.

Operator ScotRail is warning of major disruption until at least 10pm.

The fault between Pollokshaws West and Crossmyloof is causing chaos for travellers attempting to make their way in and out of Glasgow on one of the busiest party nights of the year.

As a result, services between Glasgow Central and Kilmarnock have been suspended.

Passengers have been advised they can use their train tickets on Stagecoach West bus services between Glasgow, Dunlop, Stewarton, Kilmaurs and Kilmarnock free of charge.

Anyone attempting to travel has been advised to keep an eye on ScotRail's social media channels for the latest information on services.

A loss of signalling is also affecting services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride/Kilmarnock/Barrhead/Cathcart Circles/Newton and Neilston.

These services are currently also suspended.
