Major disruption expected as south Dublin council shuts part of road for cycle lane

Major disruption is expected during peak travel times on one of south Dublin's busiest roads as it partially shut for works.

Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council made the announcement on its social media channels that the works will take place on Wyattville Road between August 22 and 31. They will take place in the area between Church Road and Churchview Road.

As a result of the works, one lane of the dual carriageway will be closed in both directions. The works are to install a new cycle lane across the stretch.

They said: "Works will take place between the 22nd and the 31st of August on Wyattville Rd between Church Rd and Churchview Rd. One lane of the dual carriageway will be closed in both directions for the duration of the works. Major disruption is expected during peak travel times."

The road is not the only one in the capital that will be closed for works. The North Strand Road is currently temporarily inaccessible to private cars in order for new cycle lanes to be built. The planned cycle route will connect Clontarf to the city centre.
