Major development in Ben Gibson chase after Nottingham Forest talks

Ben Gibson looks set to join Norwich City despite talks with Nottingham Forest.

According to  The Sun, the Canaries have won the race to sign the in-demand centre-back on a permanent deal from Burnley after he reportedly fell out with boss Sean Dyche.

Both Middlesbrough and Forest were keen on the 27-year-old as a potential loan arrival, but he now looks set to move Carrow Road.

Gibson did not kick a ball for the Clarets in the league last season and Dyche has made it clear the centre-back does not feature in his plans going forward.

He had been offered as part of a swap deal for defender Joe Worrall, but Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi reaffirmed his desire to retain the centre-back in a press conference earlier today.

Gibson had been tipped to be a star at the Clarets following his switch to Turf Moor from Boro for a reported fee of around £15m.

But he has struggled to impress and the Canaries are now set to end his nightmare in the north west.
