A localised landslip has occurred at the A71 Horsley Brae, at its junction with Brownlee Road.

South and North Lanarkshire Council are urging motorists to find an alternative route if possible.

North Lanarkshire Council posted on Facebook: “A localised landslip has occurred at a length of embankment next to the A71 Horsley Brae, at its junction with Brownlee Road.

“The footway is currently closed and temporary traffic lights will shortly be in place until the embankment can be restored.

“The restoration of a pedestrian route will be considered once the temporary signals have been erected.
