Edinburgh Waverley is experiencing major delays this morning due to a points failure within the station, which is preventing trains from using multiple platforms.
ScotRail confirmed the news this morning, stating that platforms eight, nine, 10, 11 and 12 are all affected, and that this will delay many major services coming into and leaving the station.
In a tweet posting on their official Twitter account, ScotRail said: "NEW: Due to a points failure at Edinburgh Waverley, the following service alterations will be put in place.
"Helensburgh/Edinburgh terminate/start back from Bathgate. Milngavie/Edinburgh terminate/start back from Bathgate."
Network Rail Scotland have also confirmed that their engineers are currently working on the issue, and more news will be added, should it become available.
In a replacement service update, ScotRail tweeted: "UPDATE: Edinburgh/Queen St via Falkirk High and via Falkirk Grahamston subject to delay/altetration Edinburgh/Dunblane subject to delay/alteration.
"Please check your journey before travelling."

Further updates have come with replacement bus services to the city centre, and ScotRail has worked quickly to allow ticket acceptance on the following services.
ScotRail tweeted: "UPDATE: We have requested 2 buses at Edinburgh Park and 2 at Bathgate to shuttle between these two stations, calling at all stations.
"So far, the following have been confirmed: Bathgate - Photoflash x1 at 06:55. Edinburgh Park - Edinburgh Coach lines x1 at 06:30.
"UPDATE: We have arranged for rail tickets to be accepted on Edinburgh Trams between Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket and Edinburgh Park.
"UPDATE: We have arranged ticket acceptance with Lothian buses as follows; Between Edinburgh, Wester Hailes, Slateford, Kingsknowe & Curriehill in both directions."
