Woman killed in crash involving wheelchair-accessible motorcycle

Police investigate the collision on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge.

Update: A woman who died after a crash between a wheelchair accessible motorcycle and a car on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge was Disability advocate Sue Salthouse.

Police said the crash happened at the north end of Commonwealth Avenue Bridge about 2.45pm.

A woman, who was riding the motorcycle, was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance intensive care paramedics but later died at hospital.

A southbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue was closed for a number of hours while police investigated the crash.

ACT Policing have thanked motorists for their patience.

The crash and its cause remain under investigation by ACT Policing's major collision team.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

It was third person who has died on ACT's roads this year.
