Major Co Antrim road closed after lorry sheds 500 pallets

A lorry has shed 500 wooden pallets on the M2 near the Sandyknowes Roundabout.

Police have closed the road while a clean-up operation gets underway.

The PSNI's Roads Policing team is at the scene after the accident at 9.21am today.

Traffic is being diverted and police have asked that motorists avoid the area and find an alternative route until the road is cleared and reopened.

The road, the A8M has been closed in one direction between Corr's Corner Roundabout to the M2 at junction four.

The clear-up is expected to take several hours.
