A major city road is partially closed tonight due to a police incident.
There is a police cordon in place at Aigburth Road and multiple emergency services at the scene. While we are still waiting to for official confirmation on tonight's incident pictures from the scene show crews surrounding a car on the pavement.
Traffic monitoring website INRIX says: "Road blocked due to crash on A561 Aigburth Road Southbound at Elsmere Avenue."

A detour is in place for the number 60 bus route.
