Major boost for golf and tennis in Ireland as Government set to agree on April reopening date

Golf and tennis for adults is set to resume on April 26th.

The Irish Mirror has learned that the fairways and courts of the country will be open again for the up to half a million people that play the two games.

We understand that ministers are set to agree on this date at the Cabinet meeting taking place in Government Buildings from 1pm.

It will be one of the major decisions to come out of the meeting as any other lifting of restrictions is expected to be limited.

It is widely accepted that the lifting of the 5kms travel limit will happen next month, along with an increase in the numbers of people that can meet outdoors.

A priority will also be placed on getting children's sports training back up and running next month too.

And more building sites are set to reopen with the Government keen to stress that home building must get back on track.
