Major alert over dangerous dog still roaming streets after attacking person

A dangerous dog which attacked a person yesterday remains on the loose.

Described as "white and similar to a Staffy terrier", the runaway dog caused minor injuries to the victim near a leisure centre in Braunstone Park, Leicester.

Dog wardens and police are now desperately scouring the city to find the rogue animal.

Two dogs were initially on the loose in separate incidents but Leicestershire Police said one has been found.

"This park is across the road from my son's school, it needs catching," wrote one Facebook user.

Another posted: "Apprehend the dog without killing it."

In a series of tweets, the force said: "Incident in the Braunstone Park area. Please be aware there is currently a dangerous dog on the loose. Dog is white and looks similar to a Staffy Terrior.
