Maisie Smith's future on EastEnders is reportedly 'in jeopardy' after images surfaced of the actress smoking a large hand rolled cigarette from her car.
The 19-year-old star - who plays Tiffany Butcher in the BBC soap - came under fire after she took a puff while sat in her vehicle in Essex last month.
Maisie then reportedly breached the terms of her BBC contract by agreeing to promote brands on her social media page, TikTok.
The social media star, who boasts a following of 1.7 million fans, is said to have initially approached bosses over the marketing deal, before being told it was not permitted under her contract.
However, the actress then allegedly accepted a hefty fee to promote certain tracks in her videos anyway.
According to The Sun, BBC bosses are 'disappointed' with her behaviour after she 'broke the clause'.
“EastEnders do not take matters like this lightly," an insider told the publication.
“There’s no blanket rule on deals, and they take each case on its own merit.
“But if they’re asked if it’s OK and the star is told ‘No’, they take a very dim view about it then happening.
“Paired up with the incident a few weeks ago, it doesn’t look good.
The source added: “She will be spoken to in no uncertain terms and told it will not happen again.”
A representative for EastEnders the told the publication: “We are looking into this matter.”
MirrorOnline have contacted both EastEnders bosses and a rep for Maisie Smith for comment.
Maisie shot to fame when she joined the cast of EastEnders as a child star in 2008.
Despite concern over her future on the show, in the last few days the actress ditched Albert Square for a stint at the beach.
