Mainpuri no more SP bastion; history will change on the day of counting: UP BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary on Wednesday remarked that Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has been forced to carry out door to door campaign for Mainpuri bypoll and strike a cordial relation with his estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav.

"There was a time when SP workers used to say arrogantly that their president does not campaign in bypolls. But the way Akhilesh is campaigning proves that Mainpuri is no more his party's bastion," Chaudhary said, while addressing booth level workers in Jaswant Nagar assembly constituency of Mainpuri. "History of this area will change on the day of counting of votes in the elections," he said.

The UP BJP president said that SP's policy of hooliganism, criminalization, corruption, casteism and nepotism, will uproot domination of "Saifai family". "BJP is getting public support from everywhere," he asserted.

Chaudhary said that BJP was a worker-centric party and therefore an election is crucial for every worker of the party. He said that the areas of Mainpuri and Etawah were most affected by hooliganism in the Akhilesh government. "As soon as the BJP government was formed in the state, the noose of the law was tightened on the goons, criminals and mafias," he said.

He asked the booth level workers to go among people and remind them of black deeds of the SP government which was engaged in loot, hooliganism, dacoity, extortion while giving protection to criminals. At the same time, he asked the workers to take public welfare schemes of the BJP government at the Centre and the state to the people.
