Dimple Yadav files her nomination papers for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat bypoll

Mainpuri: Dimple Yadav on Monday filed her nomination papers for Mainpuri Lok Sabha byelection. Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, SP Secretary General and MP Prof. Ramgopal Yadav were also present among others.The seat fell vacant after the demise of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Dimple Yadav has won the Lok Sabha elections in 2012 and 2014 from Kannauj.

The byelection for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat is fixed for 5 December and the result will be declared on 8 December.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was elected MP from Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The seat fell vacant after his death on 10 October. On 5 November, the Election Commission announced the byelection. According to the notification issued for the byelection, the nomination process had started from 10 November.
