A main road in a Nottinghamshire village is set to be closed for almost two months. Station Road in Keyworth will be shut from October 31 to December 20 while Severn Trent carries out work on a stretch of water pipes.
It comes as part of a £2.4 million investment project to upgrade the pipes and install a new pumping station. The water supply company said it would help meet the demands of a growing population.
The closure in Station Road will span from its junction with Park Road to just before the Malt Mill car dealership, according to Nottinghamshire County Council's website. A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “These works will be part of a £2.4 million investment project in Nottinghamshire to upgrade a stretch of water pipes along Station Road and install a new pumping station.

"These works will help to ensure the network is set to meet future population growth and continue to supply water to the community for generations to come.” Nottinghamshire County Council has been contacted for comment.
