Main road in Salford closed after car flips onto its roof

A main road has been shut this evening after a car overturned.

Leicester Road, Salford, has been closed at the junction with Gainsborough Street due to an 'RTC'.

Pictures from the scene show a silver Volkswagen car flipped onto its roof with emergency services in attendance.

It is not known how the car ended up on its roof and if there are any injuries.

Police investigating the scene of a crash in Leicester Road, Salford (ASP)

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for more information.

A TfGM Tweet said: "Leicester Road, Salford at the junction with Gainsborough Street.

"This is due to an RTC.

Volkswagen car involved in the crash in Leicester Road (ASP)

"Local bus service Go North West are on diversion.

"If you're heading this way, please seek an alternative route."
