Main road closed for hours after concerns raised for man on bridge

A section of a main road in west Wales was closed for almost three hours after concerns were raised about a man on a bridge. The A477 was shut in both directions between Kilgetty and Red Roses in Pembrokeshire on Thursday night after police were called to the scene.

There were concerns for the welfare of the man who was on a bridge above the carriageway at around 9pm, according to police. The road was blocked off by officers and reopened shortly after 12am on Friday morning.

The man was taken from the scene safely to hospital. It is understood that he did not sustain any injuries. You can get the latest WalesOnline newsletters e-mailed to you directly for free by signing up here.
