Sharon Stone yesterday accepted substantial undisclosed damages against the Daily Mail over a claim that she left her son asleep in a car while she had a late night dinner at the Ivy restaurant. The star was not at London's high court for settlement of her libel action.
Her solicitor, Rupert Grey, told Mr Justice Eady the newspaper published the article last June. It said Stone left the four-year-old asleep in a car with her driver for more than two hours while she enjoyed a dinner date with a "mystery male companion". Mr Grey said the allegations were completely untrue.
