Federal authorities are asking the public for information about three people who robbed a mail carrier this month in south suburban Blue Island.

The suspects approached the postal worker about 4 p.m. April 11 in the 12000 block of South Artesian Avenue, according to a statement from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Two of them held him down while the third entered a mail van and took mail, packages and personal items.

The suspects, described as males wearing face masks, got into a gray Jeep and drove away westbound on 120th Street, officials said.

The postal inspection service is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call 877-876-2455 and reference case 3034426.
