Maidstone shooting: Kent Police launch murder probe as man found dead in residential street

Police have launched a murder probe after a man was found dead with a suspected gunshot wound in Kent.

Officers were called just before 10.45am on Sunday to Cambridge Crescent, Maidstone, where the victim was found.

Paramedics also attended but the man, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, which is a residential street. His next of kin have been informed.

Kent Police said a “local man” in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A firearm has also been recovered by police.
