Maidenhead fire: Huge blaze billows smoke over town in Berkshire

A major blaze in Maidenhead has seen thick black smoke pour over the Berkshire market town.

Fire crews were called to the scene, in Ray Mill Road West, at 12.37pm today.

Thick clouds of smoke can be seen billowing into the air from the site.

Firefighters remain on the scene and nearby residents are being advised to close their windows.

Houses in the area might experience a drop in water pressure due to pumps being used on the blaze, South East Water said.

Crews from Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor, Langley are in attendance.

A statement said: "We are advising all local residents and businesses to keep windows and doors closed while we deal with the fire."
