Maiden Voyage: The Jazz Cafe announces new London festival with Madlib, Roy Ayers and more

A brand new music festival is coming to London this summer.

Maiden Voyage, a one-day event organised by Camden venue the Jazz Cafe, will take place on Three Mills Island on August 25.

The 10-strong line-up will feature a DJ set from hip hop luminary Madlib, as well as a live performance from jazz icon Roy Ayers.

Awesome Tapes From Africa — the tape-collecting moniker of Brian Shimkovitz — will be bringing his dancefloor-filling rarities to the festival, with jazz vocalist Charlotte Dos Santos also set to appear.

Elsewhere, there will be a b2b set from Bradley Zero and Gilles Peterson, a performance from former Slum Village member Illa J, and much more at the one-stage festival.

Three Mills Island is a popular spot for London festivals, with Art’s House and Anjunadeep’s Open Air event both set to take residence in the east London site this year.

Maiden Voyage festival tickets

Tickets for the event, which cost £20, will go on pre-sale at 10am on Thursday February 14. General sale will commence at 10am on Friday February 15.
