Mahrez and Aguero to start: Man City predicted line up vs Crystal Palace

Manchester City will face Crystal Palace this weekend after their triumphant 6-1 victory over Aston Villa last Sunday.

Having emerged victorious in each of their last five games, City will want to continue their winning streak against a Palace side that recently held Mikel Arteta's Arsenal to a draw.

Kyle Walker is set for a return to the team having been benched for the game against Villa. The right-back will want to improve on his performance from the last time the Eagles visited the Etihad, when he conceded the penalty that ultimately lost the game for City.

Fernandinho should remain at centre-back where he has been impressing in place of the injured Aymeric Laporte.

He will likely partner John Stones, who has only made ten appearances in the league this season but will not be moving to Arsenal, despite having been linked with a move to the Emirates earlier in the week.

Mendy is in line to feature at left-back again after a solid performance against Villa. He has a 78 per cent tackle success rate this season and will need to utilise this against an often aggressive Palace side.

In midfield, Rodri is expected to continue to anchor the line in a defensive role. His solidity and assured passing will be essential in nullifying the threat of Jordan Ayew who impressed against Arsenal.

De Bruyne is irreplaceable for City and will be hoping to continue his incredible form against Palace. The Belgian has scored three goals and provided seven assists in just ten games versus the London club in all competitions. David Silva should complete the midfield trio.

Up front, it is likely that Sterling will return to the side having been replaced by Gabriel Jesus for the Villa game. His pace and trickery will undoubtedly cause huge problems for a Palace defence that are prone to mistakes.

He will be joined by Riyad Mahrez, who put in a stellar performance against Villa, bagging the first two goals and providing the assist for City’s sixth.

To complete the line-up, Sergio Aguero is a no-brainer. The 31-year-old became the highest scoring overseas player of all time in the Premier League last weekend.

Man City XI vs Palace: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Fernandinho, Mendy; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva; Mahrez, Sterling, Aguero.
