Mahesh Bhatt Says His Directing Journey Is Over
Mahesh Bhatt, one of Hindi cinema's most influential filmmakers, has directed an impressive 47 films over a career spanning decades. However, nearly all of those projects came before the turn of the century. His most prolific phase was during the 1990s, when he directed around 30 films in just 10 years, delivering memorable classics such as Zakhm and Sir, along with commercial successes including Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke and Sadak.
The filmmaker stepped away from directing in 1999 to focus on film production. More than two decades later, he briefly returned to the director's chair with Sadak 2 in 2020, raising hopes among fans that he might resume directing. However, Bhatt has now made it clear that there will be no second comeback.
Reflecting on his early years in cinema, the 77-year-old recalled the struggles he faced while trying to get his films made. Beginning his career with Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain in 1974, Bhatt achieved widespread recognition during the 1980s with critically acclaimed films like Arth and Saaraansh.
Looking back on those formative years, he spoke about the determination that drove him to succeed, recalling how he would approach people tirelessly to secure funding for his films. According to Bhatt, it was that relentless passion and hunger that eventually earned him recognition in the industry.
His latest remarks firmly indicate that his journey as a director has reached its conclusion, with no plans to return behind the camera.
Kangana Ranaut Returns to Lock Upp With a Stern Reality Check
In a separate entertainment development, Kangana Ranaut is making a special appearance on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Saza, bringing her trademark no-nonsense attitude back to the reality show.
A newly released teaser shows Kangana confronting contestant Dheeraj Dhoopar, criticizing him for failing to make an impact inside the house. Calling out his gameplay, she remarks that despite comparing himself to superstar Shah Rukh Khan, he lacks even the basic qualities needed to command attention.
Kangana also accuses Dheeraj of fading into the background instead of emerging as a central figure in the competition. She suggests that he has failed to display the confidence and "main character energy" expected from a strong contestant.
Fans Believe Dheeraj Is Being Overshadowed
Dheeraj Dhoopar has developed a close friendship with fellow contestant Ram Kapoor, but many viewers believe that the actor's presence has been eclipsed by Ram's stronger personality and influence in the house.
Kangana's blunt feedback is expected to become one of the most talked-about moments of the upcoming episode, as she urges Dheeraj to become more vocal, take charge of his game, and establish his own identity in the competition.
With Mahesh Bhatt closing the door on his directing career and Kangana Ranaut stirring up fresh drama on reality television, both stories have generated significant buzz among entertainment fans for very different reasons.
