NAGPUR: With 168 new Covid cases and 62 recoveries, Vidarbha’s caseload crossed the 2,000-mark for the month of June on Wednesday.
No death was reported on Wednesday while the month has seen just one Covid toll reported from Gadchiroli district. The active caseload has touched 822.
Over 6,000 tests were done in the region in the last 24 hours. Nagpur reported 62 cases and just 18 recoveries from 1,647 tests. The district has 465 active cases now.
Three districts reported less than 10 cases but their active cases are still high.
Yavatmal reported a spike of 23 cases from 714 tests taking its active cases to 57.
Gondia and Yavatmal didn’t report any recoveries. At 16, Gondia has the lowest number of active cases. Buldana and Washim’s active cases have risen to 80 and 84, respectively. At the current pace, cases may go past 100 within a day or two.
Among the over 822 active cases in Vidarbha, few are hospitalized. A couple of patients hospitalized in Nagpur required oxygen support but that had been restricted to a couple of days. One patient was admitted to ICU in the last few days. But serious patients with comorbidities have recovered.
Amravati: Eight new cases were reported from 175 tests done in the last 24 hours. There were six recoveries during the day. The district's caseload is 10,6057. Active cases hav eincreased to 27.
Yavatmal: With 23 new patients detected in the last 24 hours from 714 tests, active cases increased to 57, including two patients from outside the district.
Chandrapur: Active cases in the district increased to 57 on Wednesday after detection of 10 more cases detected from 468 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. Three recoveries were reported during the day.
Wardha: Nine new cases from 168 tests and three recoveries were reported in the district, leaving 30 active patients under treatment on Wednesday.
