MUMBAI: NCP MP Supriya Sule expressed strong displeasure over the non-inclusion of a woman in the cabinet. "It is unfortunate that a woman did not find a place in the Shinde-Fadnavis government during cabinet expansion. It is great injustice to women's power," Sule said.
Sule recalled the statement made by PM Modi that women were not mere home-makers but nation builders. Women empowerment is crucial to India's growth, Modi had said. In Maharashtra's 288-member assembly, there are 25 women legislators, while in Upper House, there are four women out of 78 members. In the MVA government, there were 3 women cabinet members: Yashomati Thakur, Varsha Gaikwad and Aditi Tatkare.
