Maharashtra: Teachers yet to be paid for HSC, SSC evaluation

MUMBAI: Over two months after announcement of HSC and SSC results, teachers who assessed the answer booklets have not received their remunerations.

The HSC results were announced on June 8 and SSC results were declared on June 21. Exams were held in March-April. Examiners, moderators and chief moderators had to speed up the assessment work so that the state board could declare the results on time. Teachers said the remuneration should have been released soon after the results were announced. While junior college teachers of a few HSC subjects have got their remuneration, no money has been released for SSC. The remuneration is Rs 3 -6 per paper and number of hours.

At present both SSC and HSC supplementary exams are underway and teachers are engaged in correction of the answer booklets.
