NAGPUR: A State reserve police force (SRPF), identified as Shrikant Berad, had sprayed bullets on his colleague Bandu Naothar before ending life by shooting himself at the barrack at Marpally Armed out post in Sironcha taluka in south Gadchiroli on Wednesday. The jawans were part of the Pune-based SRPF group I.
Police sources stated the two SRPF jawans had a verbal tiff before Berad used his SLR to pump around half dozen bullets into Naothar. He had later placed the firearm below his chin to shoot himself.
DIG, Naxal range, Sandip Patil said the case is being investigated now. "We are yet to come to conclusion regarding exactly what may have triggered the dispute between the two," said Patil.
