Maharashtra: Sangli leads in drive for 12-14 age group

PUNE: Sangli district, where nearly 32,000 children have been given their first dose of Corbevax in just over a week, is currently the state leader in coverage among the 12-14 age group. The Corbevax drive began on March 16.

According to state data, Sangli authorities have now covered 34% of their eligible population in the 12-14 group.

Across the state, more than six lakh children have been given their first dose of Corbevax so far. Maharashtra has 39.19 lakh beneficiaries in the 12-14 age group.

A Pune zilla parishad official said Corbevax drives have picked up pace in the rural areas where 24,831 children, out of the target population of 1.43 lakh, have been given the first dose so far.

In Pimpri Chinchwad, civic officials said they will make all 118 PCMC-run schools part of the vaccine drive.

As for regular vaccine coverage, more than 29,124 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Pune district on Thursday.
