Maharashtra: Ghatkopar man held for burglary at wife's sister house in Dombivli

KALYAN: The Vishnunagar police in Dombivli have arrested two persons including a man who broke into the house of his own sister-in-law and stole all valuables including gold ornaments.

Another accused is a minor and he has been sent into the juvenile home in Bhiwandi.

According to Vishnunagar police, the incident came to light recently when they received a complaint from Pratikasha Jadhav (24) residing in Lotewadi area in Dombivli alleging someone burgled into her house and stole cash and valuables worth over Rs 1 lakh.

Acting on Pratiksha’s complaint, the police filed FIR and Senior Inspector of Police Pandharinath Bhalerao formed one team which upon technical investigation came to know that Devendra Khandekar (22) from Ghatkopar area in Mumbai is involved in crime.

The police later picked up Devendra and upon investigation came to know that he is the husband of complainant Pratiksha’s elder sister.

Bhalerao said "upon further probe we come to know that Devendra committed offence along with a minor 17-year-old boy who hails from Saki Naka area in Mumbai and subsequently detained him and sent him to remand home.

The police on Thursday produced Devendra before Kalyan session court which remanded him to police custody till March 19.

The police said they are checking if the accused committed any similar offences in past.
