A farmer from Maharashtra, who was eagerly waiting for her stipend to be paid on time as per the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, was in a state of shock after she received a text message indicating her account had been deposited with an amount of one paisa. She was expecting to be credited at Rs 2,000 for a particular installment.
The Agriculture Department on Tuesday stated the message was likely the result of a technical glitch and the correct instalment was credited without any problems to the farmer's account.
While speaking to reporters on Monday, 65-year-old Lakshmibai's son, Khemraj Girepunje of Jevanala village in the district, had said the entire family was flummoxed by the message about the deposition of a single paisa as an instalment into the farmer's bank account.
