MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena referred to the rebel Sena MLAs led by CM Ekanth Shinde as ‘Ali Baba and the forty thieves’. In an editorial in Saamna, the Sena wished CM Shinde a speedy recovery.
The Sena said that for the last two months, the state’s political health had worsened, but the news of CM Shinde falling sick was more worrying for ‘Ali Baba and the forty thieves’ who were responsible for causing this “diarrhoea of betrayal”.
“A human being and his body is a machine. There will be occasional breakdowns, but Shinde works for at least 20-22 hours without sleep. The enthusiasm of his work is great. No virus circulates around them. Still, it is worrying for those ‘40’ people that CM Shinde should fall ill. Only he knows exactly what disease Shinde is suffering from, but due to the current happenings in the Supreme Court, many people are suffering from various diseases,” the Sena taunted in the editorial. Shinde on Thursday cancelled all his official engagements for the day as he was not feeling well. —Chaitanya Marpakwar
