MUMBAI: The upcoming budget session of the Maharashtra legislature will be held from March 3 to March 25 in Mumbai. The state budget for the financial year 2022-23 will be tabled on March 11.
The dates were finalised in a meeting of the business advisory committee consisting of representatives of all parties on Tuesday. Since the pandemic began in 2020, this may be the first full-term of the legislature session. An RT-PCR negative report as well as double vaccination status are mandatory for everyone attending the session.
Earlier, a discussion was held to conduct the budget session in Nagpur but the idea was dropped as there is no central hall for the Governor’s address and the MLA hostel is being used as a Covid-care centre. “Once again the anti-Vidarbha face of the government was exposed. They had announced in December that the budget session would be held in Nagpur, but they never intended to hold it there,” said Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis . tnn
