Maharashtra: 76 active patients of Covid-19 in Nashik, all under home isolation

NASHIK: Although there has been a rise in active Covid-19 cases in Nashik city in the last 11 days, there has been no hospitalization.

The number of active Covid-19 patients in the city has increased from 13 on June 2 to 76 so far, but all are under home isolation.

NMC’s medical superintendent Bapusaheb Nagargoje said that there has been a rise in positive cases during the last few days.

“Presently, the city has a total 76 active cases of Covid-19 and all are asymptomatic. There is no hospitalization so far and all the active patients are under home isolation,” said Nagargoje.

With the rise in cases, the NMC’s health department has increased the number of testing from 200 to 400 per day in the city. NMC officials said they will increase the number of Covid tests as much as possible.

During the first wave, the number of active patients in Nashik city had increased up to 6,200 in September 2020, but there had been a drop from October.

During the second wave, the number of active patients had increased up to 28,000 in April 2021, but the cases started dropping gradually from May. The cases were reduced to around 90 active cases by December last year.
