Maharashtra: 200 north Indians join MNS in Kalyan

KALYAN: Amid ongoing political turmoil in the state, around 200 north Indians on Saturday have joined the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Kalyan rural.

Those who joined the party are residents of Sagaon and Chira Nagar areas in Kalyan. They joined party in the presence of Vinod Patil, the Kalyan Rural assembly president of MNS during a program.

For the past few months, there has been a power struggle in the state and disputes within several parties specially Shiv Sena.

Amid this, Raj Thackeray who is trying to steer the MNS towards a pro-Hindutva agenda from the previous pro-Marathi nativist approach is getting support from north Indians.

Vinod Patil, MNS's Kalyan rural assembly president told TOI, "Due to these internal disputes of political parties, North Indians, inspired by the Hindutva ideology of MNS President Raj saheb Thackeray and the development work of MNS MLA Pramod (Raju) Patil, who supported Hindutva in Kalyan rural, north Indian brothers and sisters joined our party".

Those joining the MNS include Kishore Mahawar, Manoj Singh, Rajkumar Singh, Sandeep Pandey, Pawan Shukla, Ajit Choubey and many others.

On this occasion, MNS deputy district president Yogesh Patil, Dombivli City President Manoj Gharat and other party's representative were present.
