MUMBAI: As many as 2,369 employees returned to work in two days after the MSRTC management set a new deadline of December 23 for revoking suspensions, dismissals, transfers and criminal charges against staffers.
"It is a record number of people resuming duties in just two days and we have around 23,000 employees who are now operating buses at 148 depots across the state," an official said.
The strike by workers entered its 57th day on Thursday as 102 depots continued to remain completely shut. The MSRTC operated 3,600 buses including 85 Shivneris and 367 ShivShahi buses across Maharashtra.
The number of employees on indefinite strike are now less than 69,000 as they await the next court hearing which is scheduled for January 5 next year, he stated.
