NAVI MUMBAI: At least one person was killed and five others sustained injuries in a pile up involving five vehicles on the Kamothe flyover along the Sion-Panvel highway on Sunday morning.
According to sources, the mishap took place at around 8am when the driver of a Maruti WagonR car rammed into a truck which had broken down and was being repaired on the flyover.
The accident disrupted the traffic movement for around 45 minutes till the damaged vehicles were towed away by the traffic cops.
The deceased person along with two others was travelling in a Maruti Wagonr car towards Mumbai. The other vehicles involved in the pile up are a Toyota Innova SUV, a truck and an MSRTC bus.
While two injured persons were travelling in a WagonR, three others were in Innova SUV. They are being treated at MGM hospital in Kamothe.
