Collingwood have sacked their Super Netball coach Rob Wright after a horror season that saw them yield only one win.
After finishing fourth in 2019 and playing finals, the Magpies were dead last on the Super Netball ladder this year.
The club announced Tuesday that Wright's time was up after three years in Melbourne - one as an assistant and two as senior coach.
Before that Wright led the NSW Swifts to back-to-back grand-final appearances in 2015 and 2016.
"Rob and his staff led Collingwood back to finals in 2019 and nurtured a very inexperienced group through a tough campaign in 2020," said Collingwood chief executive Mark Anderson.
"A raft of injuries and absences depleted the squad this year, which partly explains why the season returned only one win.
"It was a tough hand to be dealt and Rob and his off-court team did an admirable job in the circumstances.
"Unfortunately, though, we were unable to meet our expectations. On behalf of Collingwood, I thank Rob for all that he gave to our program."
Collingwood were hit hard with the pre-season loss of Test star Ash Brazill, who suffered a serious knee injury in the AFLW.
The Browne sisters Maddy and Kelsey also suffered knee injuries through the season while veteran Nat Medhurst, who recently retired, was on maternity leave.
