Collingwood are looking for a new list manager following last year's tumultuous AFL trade period.
Ned Guy, who oversaw the Magpies' turbulent off-season which resulted in key players leaving, will exit his role in June.
Collingwood football manager Graham Wright will take on the list manager duties when Guy departs after the mid-season draft until a full-time replacement is found.
"We're disappointed to be losing Ned. His experience as a player manager and list manager, along with his finance background, have been invaluable," Wright said.
"Recalibrating our player payments structure was a tough and necessary job. Our future payments profile is healthier in large part to him. In years to come his achievements will become clearer.
"I'm pleased he can stay with us until after the draft - he will always be welcome at Collingwood - and as disappointed as we are to be losing him I wish him well on his new direction."
Collingwood are sitting 17th on the ladder with a 1-6 record as Nathan Buckley's future as coach hangs in the balance.
The Magpies were forced to trade out star midfielder Adam Treloar, former Rising Star winner Jaidyn Stephenson and hardworking wingman Tom Phillips in a fire sale due to salary cap pressure.
All three players are playing good football at their new clubs and supporters remain upset by the treatment of the trio, particularly with how Treloar left for the Western Bulldogs.
