
D&M Music Studio presents a clarinet and piano duo recital featuring internationally renowned artists Bence Szepesi and Zhao Yangmingtian at Siam Ratchada Auditorium, ground floor of Fortune Town, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Friday at 7pm.
Held in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary, the performance will see the duo perform Weiner's Hungarian Dance, Op 40; Brahms' Clarinet Sonata No.2 In E Flat Major, Op 120; Bernstein's Clarinet Sonata and Rossini's Introduction, Theme And Variations For Clarinet And Piano.
A national chairman of the International Clarinet Association and president of the Hungarian Clarinet and Saxophone Society, Szepesi has achieved considerable recognition in his native Hungary and throughout Europe. Last year, he made his Carnegie Hall debut with a programme celebrating both Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday, also his home country with a work by Leo Weiner.
Szepesi has performed widely as soloist and as principal clarinettist of the Dohnanyi Symphony Orchestra. He also directs the Budapest Saxophone Quartet, which he founded in 1995.
Yangmingtian has performed throughout Europe, the US and Asia. He received the 2017 Adam Gyorgy Award and made his solo Carnegie Hall debut two months ago.
With a focus on the technical aspects of performance, he is active in piano pedagogy and is currently an assistant professor at Northwestern University where he is pursuing his doctorate in musical arts in piano performance and pedagogy.
