Magnificent Joe Worrall leads by example as 10-man Reds earn battling draw at Bristol City - Nottingham Forest player ratings

pAn impressive first half display was matched by an equally gritty second half one from Sabri Lamouchi#x2019;s a data-content-type=section-topic data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link href=https://www.nottinghampost.com/all-about/nottingham-forest-fcNottingham Forest/a, to earn a valuable 0-0 draw at play-off rivals Bristol City./p pRyan Yates#x2019; red card early in the second half threatened to cause greater damage to Forest, but it only served to strengthen their resolve./p pHere#x2019;s how Barry Cooper rated the Forest players:/p pstrongBrice Samba: /strongThe highlight of his opening 25 minutes was executing a perfect#xA0;Cruyff turn inside his own box to send Diedhiou the other way. Didn#x2019;t really have a huge amount to do given City didn#x2019;t have a shot on target. Worth an extra point for the way he plays the game. strong8/10/strong/p pstrongJack Robinson:/strong Slotted in nicely at left-back in the absence of Yuri Ribeiro through injury and showed that he#x2019;s more than an able deputy. Played his part in a resolute, battling defensive display. strong8/10/strong/p img src=https://i2-prod.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/article3571462.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_Bristol-City-v-Nottingham-Forest-Sky-Bet-Championship.jpg title=Tobias Figueiredo and Brice Samba data-portal-copyright=Getty Images pstrongJoe Worrall: /strongImportant header clearance in the opening minute. Was magnificent all afternoon and that was typified when he made a last-ditch, perfectly timed tackle on Nagy in the last couple of minutes. A terrific display. strong9/10/strong/p pstrongTobias Figueiredo:/strong With Michael Dawson watching on from the bench, the Portuguese knows the pressure is on him and he showed what a fine defender he is. He and Worrall headed and kicked everything that came their way. strong9/10/strong/p pstrongMatty Cash: /strongIf I were Everton, I#x2019;d be paying that #xA3;12m now because that could well be a bargain. Was up and down all afternoon and dealt manfully with any trouble. Getting better and better with every game. Just don#x2019;t tell Kenny Burns! strong8/10/strong/p pstrongBen Watson:/strong Marshaled the team well and that role grew greater following the sending off of Yates. Showed his experience throughout in a game where it was vitally needed. strong8/10/strong/p pstrongRyan Yates:/strong Almost put his side in front with a sweet volley inside the opening 10 minutes, was busy as he so often is. Unfortunately his luck ran out when he lunged in Adam Nagy and was sent off after 57 minutes. Must learn to curb that enthusiasm. strong5/10/strong/p pstrongTiago Silva:/strong Delicious corner picked out Yates, who saw his effort cleared off the line, and that set the tone for a fine first half display. Tested Bentley early in the second half. Works so hard and so much good that Forest do goes through him. Had to rein it in after Yates#x2019; red card. strong7/10/strong/p img src=https://i2-prod.nottinghampost.com/incoming/article3571463.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_Bristol-City-v-Nottingham-Forest-Sky-Bet-Championship.jpg title=Ben Watson and Brice Samba embrace data-portal-copyright=Getty Images pstrongSammy Ameobi: /strongWas often a willing runner down the left-hand side for Forest, worked tirelessly before being withdrawn for Adomah following Yates#x2019; red card. strong6/10/strong/p pstrongJoe Lolley:/strong Almost put the Reds in front only to see his effort palmed away by Bentley. Occasionally a threat on a day when he probably wasn#x2019;t at his best. Replaced with 10 minutes left by Joao Carvalho. strong6/10/strong/p pstrongLewis Grabban:/strong Gave Ashley Williams plenty to think about early on, even if his chances were rather limited. Had a glorious chance 70 minutes in when he could only poke just wide. strong6/10/strong/p img src=https://i2-prod.nottinghampost.com/incoming/article3571464.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_Bristol-City-v-Nottingham-Forest-Sky-Bet-Championship.jpg title=Brice Samba,Tobias Figueiredo and Ben Watson data-portal-copyright=Getty Images pSubs:/p pstrongAlbert Adomah/strong (for Ameobi 61): Gave Forest fresh energy when they needed it following the dismissal. Worked hard to give Forest an out ball. strong6/10/strong/p pstrongJoao Carvalho/strong (for Lolley 80): Not sure he touched the ball given the fact the Reds spent so much of it defending. strong5/10/strong/p pstrongRafa Mir/strong (for Grabban 87): Replaced Grabban with three minutes to go, though I don#x2019;t recall him touching the ball as Forest had to defend. strong5/10/strong/p
