'Magnificent' £1.2 million house on Liverpool waterfront for sale

An opportunity has arisen to buy a grand Grade II listed mansion on Liverpool’s waterfront.

The ‘impressive’ seven bedroom property is found on the corner of the private North Road and exclusive Grassendale Esplanade.

With ‘magnificent’ views of the River Mersey, the Grassendale house is one of the most expensive homes for sale in the area.

On the market with Strike, for £1.2 million, buyers are promised a ‘beautiful’ family home for the hefty price tag.

Grassendale is known for being an area with some of the most expensive houses in Merseyside.

Near to Aigburth and Allerton, but closer to Liverpool’s waterfront, Grassendale has previously been listed as having some of the priciest homes in the city.

According to Rightmove, the area has an overall average price of £640,000 for detached properties, in the last 12 months.

That’s more than £300,000 over the average for Liverpool as a whole, with the house prices for detached properties in the city averaging at £337,659, in the last year.

As well as the striking views across the water, other highlights of the property include a fully renovated basement, a gym, study, wine cellar and cinema with bar room.

Images on Rightmove show the period property retains many of its charming characteristics despite being recently renovated.

The Grade II listed property still boasts ceiling roses and decorative panel mouldings, typical of period properties.

There are also plenty of original features including marble and cast iron fireplaces, hardwood flooring and decorative arches.

However there are also stylish modern fixtures such as bathroom skylights, indoor spotlights and a conservatory.

The recently renovated kitchen benefits from built-in appliances, a central island and a spacious utility room that leads onto the dining area.

On the first floor there are four of the seven 'generous' double bedrooms. The main bedroom boasts a dressing room and the remaining three bedrooms share two 'beautifully renovated' bathrooms.

The second floor offers three further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

There is also a fully renovated basement, with gym, study, wine cellar and cinema room with bar.

The buyer of the house will also acquire the surrounding gardens and a coach house - with planning permission for conversion.

The Entwistle Green listing reads: “Entwistle Green are delighted to be offering for sale this stunning, Grade II listed, period property located in the beautiful Grassendale Park on the corner of North Road and Grassendale Esplanade.

“This prestige position enjoys magnificent views of the River Mersey, and the area boasts excellent schooling, and nearby bus and rail links.

“This beautiful family home has been lovingly and sympathetically improved by the current owners, retaining many original features.”
