Magician Ben Hanlin tenth celebrity confirmed for Dancing on Ice

Magician Ben Hanlin is the tenth celebrity skater confirmed to take part in Dancing on Ice 2020.

The 33-year-old entertainer broke the news during an appearance on BBC Radio London.

He admitted: "Can I ice skate? Barely. But I did say to the producers 'if I'm going to do this, can I try to do magic on ice?' I will try and attempt to put magic into the show if I can."

Ben added that he is wasting no time in getting ready for the contest.

"We start tomorrow! On the ice for the very first time," he revealed.

Brummie Ben is best known for presenting ITV2 series Tricked from 2013 to 2016 and went on to present his own Capital Breakfast show.

He will join Michael Barrymore, Maura Higgins, Kevin Kilbane, Lucrezia Millarini, H, Lisa George, Perri Kiely, Libby Clegg MBE and Joe Swash in the line up.

Dancing on Ice returned last year to record viewing figures after a four year hiatus.

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan and his professional partner Alexandra Schauman took home the top prize after wowing the fans and judges with their performances.

Holly Willoughby and Phil will return as the hosts next year - but the judging line-up has undergone a shake-up.

Jason Gardiner announced he was quitting the show earlier this year and his replacement was announced earlier this month.

John Barrowman, 52, will join the panel after competing himself in 2006.

"I am so excited to be returning to the Dancing On Ice family," he said in a statement.

"Unlike most I have been through the rigorous task of skating live as a contestant in the first series.

"This is a thrilling adventure for me and I hope to bring a fresh, fun and fab-u-lous angle to the judging panel."

Barrowman will join Jayne Torvill, Christoper Dean and Ashley Banjo on the panel.
