Magical photos capture moment man 'picks up the sun and puts it in boot of his car'

We've all heard of 'The man who sold the world' but what about 'The man who stole the sun'?

No, it isn't another timeless musical hit we're talking about, instead it's some ingenious photographical work on this occasion.

These cleverly-shot photos appear to show a man loading the sun - yes, that big ball of heat and fire in the sky around which our earth orbits - into the boot of his car.

Photographer Diana Badmaeva, 37, shot the pictures as the sun set in the resort town of Arshad, in Russia.

She said getting the pictures was not as difficult as she thought it would be because she has taken lots of sunset pics.

She said: "This is perhaps my favourite type of shooting.

"The main thing is to make all the scenes as fast as possible, because the sun sets quickly over the horizon and you only have a few minutes for all this.

"The most difficult thing was the distance between the model and me, which was almost 1 km."

Her husband, Nikolai, is the man loading the sun into the boot of the car, taken on September 9.

Diana added: "My husband and I talked on the phone so that he would do what I needed.

"It seems I managed to capture the theft of the century!

"Or, a quick guide on how to steal the sun."
