While Santa's preferred mode of transport may be his flying sleigh, for four weeks in the run up to Christmas, old St Nick will be ditching his reindeer in favour of a steam train - and everyone is welcome aboard.
Running every weekend from the end of November, the Great Central Railway Nottingham's Santa Train is back for 2019 and tickets are available to book online for the first time in 25 years.
Setting off from Ruddington Heritage Centre, the steam train tootles through the beautiful South Notts countryside with Santa in tow, dishing out presents to good little boys and girls, while seasonal refreshments are provided to all.
All services return to Ruddington where the shop and cafe will be open for gifts, drinks and snacks. The miniature and model railways will also be open for visitors, weather dependant.
The Santa Special Services operate every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 through to December 24, including two Christmas Eve services to really get you into the Yuletide spirit.
