Magic reportedly agree to deals with Terrence Ross, Al-Farouq Aminu

The Orlando Magic reportedly will bring back free agent shooting guard and super sixth man Terrence Ross on a four-year, $54 million contract.

The deal was first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The agreement came within minutes of the official opening of NBA free agency. The Magic previously reached a four-year, $100 million agreement with NBA All-Star center Nikola Vucevic.

Beyond signing two key pieces of the team's 2018-19 playoff run, the Magic added to the roster when it reached a three-year, $29 million agreement with Al-Farouq Aminu, as first reported by Wojnarowski.

Ross more than lived up to his "Human Torch" nickname as he turned into an offensive force last season.

Not only did the Magic shooting guard play at a high level in the final year of his contract, but he also played a prominent role in helping the team reach the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

Along the way, he posted career-best numbers in several statistical categories.

Ross scored 1,223 points, easily a career-high. He also set new marks for scoring (15.1) and rebounding (3.5) average, as well as free throws made (126), free-throw attempts (144) and free-throw percentage (87.5%).

Ross was at his best from long range. He finished the season with 217 3-pointers on 566 attempts _ both career-bests. His 217 3s ranked 10th in the NBA, and eight of the nine players ahead of Ross on the list had at least 605 attempts. Klay Thompson was the exception with 599 attempts.

Ross made 38.3% of his 3-point attempts, easily better than the career average of 36.4% entering the season.

Ross especially was instrumental down the stretch. As the Magic went 4-0 to close the regular season, he averaged 27.3 points per game.

Aminu, meanwhile, spent the past four seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. The 6-foot-9 forward, who is known for his defense, started 81 games last season, posting averages of 9.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He averaged 28.3 minutes per contest and shot 34.3% from the 3-point line.

Aminu was selected eighth overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2010 NBA draft after playing two seasons at Wake Forest. He also has played for the New Orleans Hornets, New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks.
