ORLANDO, Fla. _ The Orlando Magic's shooting woes flared up again during a 122-106 loss to the Dallas Mavericks Friday night at Amway Center.
Evan Fournier scored 28 points to lead Orlando (24-32), which shot just 39.4% overall and 20.9% from the 3-point line in their first game back from the all-star break.
Nikola Vucevic finished with 27 points while Terrence Ross added 19 points and Markelle Fultz had 14 points for the Magic.
Fournier and Ross were a combined 8 of 20 from the 3-point line, leaving the rest of the team 1 of 23. The Mavericks outscored the Magic 45-27 from behind the arc.
Luka Doncic posted 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead Dallas (34-22), which won on the first night of a back-to-back set. The Mavericks are in Atlanta on Saturday.
Maxi Kleber scored 12 of his season-high 26 points in the fourth quarter while Kristaps Porzingis finished with 24 points for the Mavericks, who improved to 19-8 on the road.
Behind nine points from Fournier, Orlando used a 15-2 run over a 3:39 stretch of the third quarter to erase a 12-point halftime deficit and take a 69-68 lead.
The game stayed close until Dallas opened up a nine-point lead late in the quarter on a layup by Doncic.
Once Kleber hit the second of his two 3-pointers to push the lead to 12 with 9:31 to play, the Magic never got closer than 11.
Fultz left the game with 3:27 left in the third quarter because of a cramp and did not return.
The Magic shook up the starting lineup as coach Steve Clifford inserted recently acquired forward James Ennis into the rotation. Clifford said he felt Ennis would give the Magic the best chance to play well and give them the most balance between offense and defense.
Orlando also welcomed D.J. Augustin back to the lineup. The veteran point guard had missed the past 15 games with bone irritation in his left knee.
The Magic return to action Monday when they travel to Brooklyn to take on the Nets.
