Three years ago, Magic Mike became one of those sleeper hits that surprised everyone. Conceived as a vehicle for Channing Tatum to display his dancing skills and his physique (and partially based on his experiences as a stripper), it turned out to be a movie about much more than that. Although, of course, there was lots of male stripping.
The much-anticipated trailer for its sequel was first premiered on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and it’s pretty much what we would expect: Tatum dancing alone, then dancing with the others, then stripping. Quite the trailer fans were hoping for.
The plot picks up three years later, when a retired Mike decides to strip one last time for a convention in Myrtle Beach.
So we can only imagine there will be plenty of shirtless scenes. Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer have not returned for the sequel, but Tatum is still joined by Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias and Kevin Nash.
