WASHINGTON _ Another heartbreaker.
The Orlando Magic gave up an 11-point lead to start the fourth quarter and lost to the Washington Wizards 115-114 Sunday at the Verizon Center.
Bradley Beal scored a game-high 32 points for the Wizards, who also received 27 points from Bojan Bogdanovic.
The Magic opened the fourth quarter ahead 90-79, but the Wizards whittled their deficit and took a 97-96 lead on a John Wall three-point play with 6:47 remaining.
The game seesawed back and forth from that point on.
Bogdanovic sank a 3-pointer to give Washington a 112-111 lead with 1:06 to go.
After a Magic timeout, Evan Fournier scored on a reverse layup as he was fouled by Marieff Morris. Fournier made the ensuing free throw to put Orlando ahead 114-112.
The Wizards responded immediately. Wall drove into the lane and kicked the ball out to Bogdanovic in the right corner, and Bogdanovic sank another 3 to give his team a 115-114 lead with 46.8 seconds left.
Aaron Gordon had his shot blocked on Orlando's ensuing possession.
After Washington grabbed the defensive rebound, Wall missed a jumper with 5.9 seconds to play.
Gordon collected the defensive rebound, sprinted upcourt but he missed a shot from 7 feet just before time expired.
The Magic entered the game short-handed.
Nikola Vucevic, the team's starting center, sat out because he has a sore right Achilles' tendon.
Bismack Biyombo started at center for the first time since Jan. 8 in Vucevic's place, and finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
The Magic led by 16 points at halftime, but the Wizards cut the lead to 78-71 midway through the third quarter when Biyombo picked up his fourth foul and received a technical for arguing with an official.
Magic coach Frank Vogel replaced Biyombo with 6-foot-9 forward Jeff Green and asked Green to play center.
But the Magic responded with an 8-0 run. Elfrid Payton scored on a floater. When Washington's Marcin Gortat missed a shot, Green hauled in the defensive rebound, dribbled coast to coast and scored on a layup as he was fouled by Gortat. Green converted the three-point play. A short while later, Fournier sank a 3-pointer to extend Orlando's lead to 86-71.
The fourth quarter started with the Magic ahead 90-79. But the Wizards opened the quarter on a 10-4 run to cut the lead to 94-89.
Wall put the Wizards ahead 97-96 when he scored on a layup (on a Biyombo goaltending violation), was fouled by Biyombo and made the free throw with 6:47 left.
Terrence Ross made a 3-pointer on Orlando's ensuing possession.
The Magic led 61-45 at halftime.
They made 10 of their 20 shots beyond the arc in the first half. Mario Hezonja made all three of his 3-point tries while Ross and D.J. Augustin added two 3s apiece.
