ORLANDO, Fla. _ The Orlando Magic didn't need more problems entering Friday's game at Amway Center against the Los Angeles Clippers.
But the Magic got more headaches in falling, 120-95, to the Clippers _ their fourth consecutive defeat. To make matters worse, second-year forward Jonathan Isaac was injured, making first-year head coach Steve Clifford's rebuilding project more difficult.
Isaac played just 27 games during his rookie season last year due to a nagging ankle injury. He suffered another mild ankle sprain in the Magic's first preseason game at Philadelphia, but he was back for the regular-season opener.
Friday night it was more ankle problems. Isaac came down on the foot of Clippers center Boban Marjanovic and suffered a right ankle sprain, leaving the game with 2:51 remaining in the first half. His status remains uncertain for this weekend. The Magic (2-6) play at San Antonio on Sunday night and are back home to host Cleveland on Monday.
The Clippers built a 13-point halftime lead and each time the Magic tried to climb back in the second half, L.A. had answers _ especially from veteran Lou Williams. He had five second-half 3-pointers and ended with 28 points. Former Magic forward Tobias Harris added 21 points and seven rebounds.
The Magic, who have now lost 10 straight to the Clippers, were led by Nikola Vucevic's 22 points and 11 rebounds. The double-double puts him alone at second all-time in Magic history with 227. He was tied with Shaquille O'Neal.
The Magic did shoot the ball better Friday night, but the Clippers were sharper. Orlando hit 43.5 percent from the field, but the Magic still had issues from long range, missing all eight 3-point attempts in the first half and ending the game making just 4 of 17 (23.5 percent).
Orlando did not even attempt a 3-pointer in the first quarter Friday night after putting up a franchise-record 43 treys during their two previous games. Unfortunately for the Magic, they only made 21 of those 86 3-pointers.
